Moroccan MPs confer with amnesty international officials
Morocco-UK, Politics, 12/7/2000

A Moroccan parliamentary delegation visiting Great-Britain conferred here Wednesday with officials of Amnesty International.

MPS briefed interlocutors on progress made in human rights under the leadership of King Mohammed VI saying the file was shelved after the government decided to pay compensation to victims of abuse and basic human rights violations.

They urged Amnesty International to step up efforts for the liberation of people detained in Tindouf camps suffering daily abuse and ruthless repression and underscored the necessity to open voting list to all Sahrawis to enable them cast votes in the UN referendum.

Members of the delegation also examined cooperation ties and means to enhance them with Labor MP Carolina Flint, in charge of parliamentary affairs of secretaries of state to the Foreign Office.
