Boeing to transfer some of its activities to Morocco
Morocco-USA, Business, 12/7/2000

Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid, met Wednesday evening at the royal cabinet Boeing sales department chairman Allan Mulally and vice-chairman Seddik Belyamani.

Mulally confirmed Boeing's decision to transfer some of its building activities to the kingdom starting with a production unit at Casablanca Nouasseur with the Moroccan airlines "Royal Air Maroc" to manufacture electric components going to the group's different aircraft models.

De-localization in favor of partnership with RAM in a high value-added sector shows Morocco could be competitive in new and fast-expanding jobs which contribute significantly to world economic growth.

The meeting was attended by Transport and merchant navy minister Abdeslam Znined and Mohamed Hassad, chairman of Royal Air Maroc.
