Iraq-Sudan, Politics, 12/7/2000
Iraqi sources expected that more than one Arab President and leader to visit Iraq, noting that there are actual contacts that are being made with several Arab states for that purpose.
This statement was made just hours after the announcement made by the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir about his intention to visit Iraq. In his statements to the Iraqi news agency on Tuesday, the Sudanese president did not specify the date of the visit which he said it " will assure Sudan's solidarity with Baghdad and strengthen relations between the two states.
