Turkey and the Iraqi oil
Iraq-Turkey, Economics, 12/7/2000
The Turkish News Agency Ikhlas on Wednesday quoted well-informed sources that the Iraqi oil exports from the Turkish port of Jeihan on the Mediterranean and the Iraqi al-Baker port on the Gulf are still suspended due to the continued differences with the UN over the oil pricing.
The sources added that Iraq still pumps oil through the oil pipeline to Jeihan port in order to fill the storage reservoirs there, adding that " but the pumping is made only at half of the average amount, approximately 400,000 barrels every day and that there are no oil transporters at Jeihan port.
