Israel and Shebaa farms

The Israeli daily Haartez on Tuesday quoted Israeli government's sources as saying that Israel asserts the need of keeping Shebaa farms areas which are under disputes as a sort of guarantees.
The paper quoted these sources, as stated by the Monte Carlo on Tuesday, that " we have carried out a unilateral withdrawal from South Lebanon but we will not withdraw from any Syrian territory without an agreement.
This means, however, that Israel still considers these farms as part of the Syrian territories despite the fact that Damascus has repeatedly considered these farms as not Syrians.
