Egypt, Economics, 12/5/2000

Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak reviewed during a meeting on Monday the rules protecting the state lands according to a cadastral drawn by the armed forces, the ministries of tourism and housing and localities.

Emerging from the meeting, Information Minister Safwat Al-Sherif said that Mubarak discussed a number of legislations, which will be raised during the People's Assembly new session.

Sherif added that Mubarak reviewed the uses of state-owned lands and the cabinet future decisions on regulations meant to preserve the ownership of the state to such lands.

"The President discussed during another meeting with the National Democratic Party (NDP) General Secretariat preparations for the new parliamentary session and coordination between the NDP committees, the government and People's Assembly committees," said Sherif.

"Mubarak underlined the importance of discussing all bills in detail and with objectivity by experts in the NDP and PA specialized committees before fully submitting them to deputies for deliberations," He added.

"Mubarak stressed the need of constant coordination between the government and the NDP. He is going to discuss soon the outcome of the committee formed by the NDP Secretariat on the development of the NDP performance," Sherif said.
