Jordan, Politics, 12/4/2000
Jordanian minister of information Taleb al-Refa has denied information which talked about submitting his resignation from the government of Ali Abu al-Ragheb.
In press statements issued on Sunday he stressed he had asked for a special vacation for several days he will spend outside the country and he does not think of resignation.
But the Jordanian daily al-Arab al-Youm said in its Sunday's issue said that Taleb al-Refa has submitted his resignation because there is a dispute between him and the minister of culture Mahmoud al-Kayed on appointing a new chief editor for the Jordanian daily al-Rai.
The paper said that the Prime minister Abu al-Ragheb has suspended the decision to appoint a new chief editor for al-Rai during a meeting for its editing staff last week.
