The same source told the paper that what was announced by the speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri after his meeting with the Maronite Patriarch Nasrullah Sfeir last Friday had a sort of ( violation), adding " what so ever Berri was a main ally for Syria and will remain so and he will visit Damascus shortly and meet with President Bashar al-Assad."

Al-Sharq al-Awsat said on Friday that Syrian officials have denied what was quoted by certain Lebanese political circles and the mass media in that there are promises given by Damascus to the Maronite patriarch Nasrullah Sfeir on the redeployment of the Syrian army in Lebanon.

Syrian political circles denied what was rumored in Lebanon on that there are two trends inside the Syrian leadership.
