New mexican president gets message from king Mohammed

New Mexican president Vicente Fox Quessada received a message from King Mohammed VI.

The message was handed to President Quessada by foreign affairs and cooperation minister, Mohamed Benaissa, who will stand for King Mohammed VI in the swearing-in ceremony of the new Mexican president.

President Quessada asked Benaissa to convey to King Mohammed VI his will to consolidate relations between Morocco and Mexico.

The new Mexican President voiced wish that Morocco will be among the first states he will visit in 2001. He also extended King Mohammed VI an invitation to visit Mexico.

Quessada lauded King Mohammed VI's efforts to make of Morocco a developed nation, defending freedom and human rights.

He voiced will to materialize new cooperation projects with Morocco and go beyond the signing of agreements.

Benaissa told MAP's special envoy to Mexico a joint commission will be created the soonest and business missions will be exchanged.

Benaissa informed President Quessada of Morocco's wish to join Mercosur as observer member. Mercosur is a regional grouping, mustering Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia and Chile.

Some 150 foreign delegations will attend Quessada's swearing in ceremony, to be held this Friday.
