Tunisian president confers with Arafat

A Tunisian official source said today ( Friday) in Tunis that President Zein al-Abidin Bin Ali had discussed with the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat the situation the Palestinian people suffer.
Meantime, the Tunisian President called today on the UN to play a more effective role in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He called on the ME peace process cosponsors and the EU to exert more efforts for rescuing the ME peace process from total collapse.
