Iraq stops oil pumping though Turkey

A spokeswoman for the Turkish " Butas " company for oil and gas said today ( Friday) that Iraq on Thursday evening stopped its oil exports through the Turkish port of Jeihan.

The spokeswoman added that Turkey was not notified beforehand about the suspension of crude oil exports, it carries out in the framework of the oil for food program.

She continued that information available at the " Butas" company says that negotiations continue between the Iraqi officials and the UN to deal with this situation.

However, a dispute is existed between the UN and Baghdad on the price of the Iraqi oil exports. It was demanding 50 additional cents on every barrel of oil in comparison with the market prices.
