Lebanese complaint to the UN Security Council

Lebanon's foreign minister Mahmoud Hammoud has announced that he had submitted a complaint to the UN Security Council against Israel over bombarding southern lebanese villages close to kafer Shouba town on the Lebanese borders with Israel on Sunday.

Meantime, the Israeli warplanes violated the Lebanese airspace and flew at high altitude over the areas of South Lebanon until the Eastern Bekaa.

In a statement he made in Beirut on Monday Hammoud said that Lebanese complaint stresses that this Israeli action is considered a violation to UN Security Council resolutions 425 and to Lebanon's sovereignty.

For his part, the speaker of the Lebanese parliament Nabih Berri on Monday discussed with the US ambassador to Lebanon David Satter- field latest developments in South Lebanon.

Following the meeting Satter- Field said that talks dealt with the efforts needed to ensure stability and security on the borders and to avoid any negative impact.

He added that security and stability which the Lebanese people aspire for and backed by the international community is affected by what is taking place on the borders. he explained that it is very important to honor UN resolution 425 and to implement it by all sides concerned.
