Iraq denies a request for a Syrian mediation with Kurdish forces

The spokesman for the higher council for the revolution in Iraq Bayan Jaber has denied the news which stated that during his meeting with the Foreign minister of Syria Farouk al-Shara, the Iraqi vice president Tareq Aziz in northern Iraq in order that Damascus to mediate with the Kurdish forces in Northern Iraq.
In a telephone call with the Kuwaiti daily al-Watan, Jaber added that this matter has not debated and that the secretary general of the Kurdistani party Masoud al-Barazani visited Syria several days ago in his way back from a European tour to North Iraq.
