Sudan, Ethiopia and the Nile

The Sudanese government has called on Ethiopia to provide it with detailed information about 14 projects Addis Ababa intends to implement on the Nile river so as to know the consequences of these projects on Sudan.
In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Tuesday, the Sudanese secretary of the ministry of irrigation and water resources Ahmad Muhammad Adam said that total area covered by the Ethiopian projects totaled at 1.250 million faddan ( a measuring size) that need almost 6.5 billion of cubic meters of waters.
He added that the aim of the Sudanese government behind these demands is to study these projects and there actual requirements of waters and the water reservoirs Ethiopia intends to build and comparison between the storage period and Sudan's needs of waters during this very period.
