Saudi Arabia-Yemen-USA, Politics, 11/27/2000
A Saudi security source has denied in a statement to the Saudi daily Okaz issued on Saturday any link to Saudis in exploding the US warship USS Cole at the territorial waters of Aden port in October.
An official at the Saudi foreign ministry told the Saudi daily Okaz that what was said on the involvement of Saudis in the explosion of the warship lacks evidences, noting that such a statement is not the first to be released by Yemeni side in similar incidents.
On Friday, the Yemeni prime minister Abdul Karim al-Eryani said that investigations concerning the explosion of the warship revealed that the two men who carried out the explosion against the US warship are Saudis of Yemeni origin of the Afghan Arabs.
