Vengeful camel chops off master's feet
Sudan, Local, 11/20/2000

In a rare episode in Sudan, an offended camel took revenge on its owner by chopping off his feet as he slept, says the Panafrican news agency "PANA."

The incident was reported by a Sunday newspaper in Khartoum, which said the man was currently recovering at a Khartoum hospital, after losing his two feet.

The man, in a fit of anger, had beaten the camel severely. The offended camel concealed its anger for sometime and waited for the right moment to take revenge by chopping off the master's feet.

A similar incident had occurred in Merowe in northern Sudan's Shamaliya state, in the mid 1980s when an offended camel bit its owner's head during his sleep.

The man lay dead for days in the desert until a passing caravan discovered the body and reported to the police.
