MAP, radio and tv to get an adequate legal framework, minister says
Morocco, Politics, 11/18/2000

A technical commission will be meeting soon to set up an adequate legal framework for the Maghreb Arabe Presse news agency (MAP), radio and television in Morocco and open dialog with media-people.

Minister of culture and communication Mohamed Al Achaari made the announcement in a reception held Thursday night in celebration of the Moroccan Information Day saying huge efforts are being exerted for a global approach seeking technical and administrative solutions for several media enterprises.

A draft bill on the press-code will shortly be handed to the government to end conflicts and promote the sector consolidating freedom of speech and respect for the right to information, he said pointing out, however, the reform everybody is striving to can only be achieved by media-people.
