Youssoufi chairs ministerial commission on education reform

Morocco's Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi chaired in Rabat Wednesday the ministerial commission in charge of the follow-up and implementation of the education reform project.
A prime minister department release said the commission looked into draft bills and decrees for the implementation of the reform and setting up of the University, Cultural and Social Works National Office and the National Technical and Scientific Research Center.
The commission examined and adopted seven decrees on primary and private education statutes, setting up of regional academies for education and training, standing commission for scientific research and technology development, implementation of the private vocational training statute and the bill setting up and implementing vocational promotion and requirements for license delivery for private vocational training institutions.
Youssoufi decided the next meeting of the commission will be devoted to implementation follow-up of reform phases and assessment of early months of the academic year with a view to working out a global strategy for the national charter of education and training and define priorities of the reform, the release said.
