Drinking-water and sanitation projects get $ 62 million from Germany

Morocco and Germany signed in Rabat Friday several financing contracts worth $ 62.1 million destined to drinking-water and sanitation projects in the kingdom.
From the Funds supplied by the German development institution "KFW," $ 27 million will go to the drinking-water office "ONEP" to finance a water-supply project in northern Morocco. Half of the amount benefits from a special rate while the other half is subjected to market interest rates.
Another water-supply project meant to service several small centers countrywide gets over $ 13 million under special terms.
The remaining amount is extended as a donation to help upgrade sanitation in small centers and buy equipment for natural resources protection in Souss-Massa-Tazekka and Toubkal.
