UAE president donates ISESCO $ 1.0 million

Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultane Al-Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates, has extended the Rabat-based Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization "ISESCO" a one million dollar donation as a contribution to build the ISESCO permanent headquarters in Rabat.
ISESCO general director, Abdulaziz Ben Othmane Al Twaijri, also announced on Thursday at the opening of ISESCO executive council 21st session that the governor of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi, had donated a fully equipped ISESCO regional office in the Sharjah emirate. Sheikh Sultan earmarked an annual budget for the regional office, Al Twaijri said.
Head of the OIC body said the current session of the executive council is held at a decisive moment for the Islamic world, citing in particular the crucial importance the city of Al-Quds holds in the Organization concerns.
He also recalled that ISESCO and Bayt AL-Mal Al Quds, a fund set up to carry out various projects to safeguard the Arab and Islamic identity and architecture of the city had signed a cooperation agreement under which ISESCO extends material, technical and academic support to education and cultural institutions in the city.
