Jordanian minister confers with UN human rights commissioner

Jordanian deputy Premier and minister of the interior Awad Khleifat on Thursday in Amman met with the UN commissioner for human rights Mrs. Mary Robinson, currently visiting Jordan in the course of a tour on the region that so far covered Egypt, the Palestinian territories and Israel. Robinson talked about the aims of her visit to the region and the scenes of human violations she saw during her visit to the Palestinian territories and Israel's deliberate use of force in confronting the Palestinian uprising.
Kheifat renewed Jordan's position in backing the Palestinian people who have been exposed to the Israeli violence and siege.
