On the Libyan ambassador to Lebanon
Libya-Lebanon, Politics, 11/15/2000
The secretary of the Libyan people's committee for African Unity Ali Abdul Salaam al-Tureiki said that the Libyan ambassador will not return back to Lebanon as far as Nabih Berri is the speaker of the Lebanese parliament and as far as Berri behaves the way he is.
In a statement to the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily issued on Tuesday, al-Tureiki strongly criticized Berri's behavior and described them as a violation to international norms and laws.
Libya had withdrawn its ambassador from Beirut in protest to that he was not invited to attend the inauguration of the first sessions of the new Lebanese parliament while other Arab and foreign ambassadors were invited to the opening ceremony.
