Israeli planes violate the Lebanese airspace

The Israeli warplanes on Tuesday continued their provocation and violation of the Lebanese airspace. It broke the sound barrier over the capital Beirut.

Lebanese security sources said the Israeli warplanes carried out on Tuesday mock and provocative raids over several areas in South Lebanon and its western Bekaa.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli warplanes broke the sound barrier over al-Hasbani are in the eastern sector of South Lebanon.

The Lebanese radio said the Israeli warplanes flew over the areas of Rashya and the western Bekaa at intermediate altitude.

On the other hand, the Lebanese President Emil Lahoud on Tuesday reviewed with the commander the Lebanese army lt. Gen. Michael Suleiman security conditions in the country.

Discussions also dealt with the situation in South Lebanon in light of the continued Israeli aggressions and violations.

On the other hand, UNIFIL forces working in South Lebanon announced it had dismantled numerous landmines and artillery shelling that were did not explode, left by the Israeli occupations forces before their withdrawal from South Lebanon.

The spokesman for UNIFIL Timor Goksil said on Tuesday that teams from the UN forces have since last July cleaned up an area of 252,000 square meters of mines and dismantled 1255 anti- personnel mines, 10 mines anti vehicles and some 255 Israeli artillery shells that did not explode.

Goksil announced that no one knows the number of mines left behind the Israeli occupation forces and that work will continue " and we do need a long time due to work accuracy to this end."
