Palestine calls for boycotting General Motors
Palestine-USA, Economics, 11/14/2000

The Palestinian government on Monday called for an international boycott of the products of the US General Motors to protest against its sponsoring of a recent High-tech seminar in an Israeli settlement.

General Motors and its Israeli branch for research and development is supervising an international three-day high-tech seminar in the Israeli Ariel settlement.

Financing the encounter is evidence to General Motors' approval of the Israeli occupation and gives legitimacy to settlements, the Palestinian information department said in a release.

The Palestinians denounce General Motors for having accepted to finance the seminar at a time the Intifada, popular uprising, is intensifying against enemies and occupation, the department insisted.

The ministry called on all peace-loving countries, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Conference, the United Nations and the Arab companies to boycott General Motors.
