Somali member of parliament assassinated

Hassan Ahmad Alami, member in the provisional Somali parliament was killed on Sunday at his home in Makadishu by unidentified gunmen.

News reports said that Alami was killed at his home situated in the al-Madina quarters in the area which is controlled by activists of Sedi Mousa Yalahu militias which refused to recognize the reconciliation process approved in Arta.

However, the major Somali tribes had nominated 245 as parliamentarians for them on August 13 to be representatives at the provisional Somali parliament which is considered one of the main establishments, which was stated by the reconciliation conference which was held in Arta, Djibouti after ten years of disorder in Somalia.

Worthy mentioning that all war leaders except one of them, refuse to recognize the president, the government and the parliament who emerged from Arta conference which wins the backing of the international community.
