UNESCO Arab handicraft prize to be awarded in Tunis

The UNESCO handicraft prize for the Arab states will be awarded at the regional handicraft fair hosted by Tunis November 16-19, says a release of the World Handicraft Council.
The $ 10,000 prize rewards outstanding efforts and achievements by craftsmen in the Arab world in their particular craft. It targets further stimulation of creativity and the holding of regional exhibits.
Arab craftsmen are invited to draw from folklore inspiration in designing new innovative items to compete for this year's prize on "Ceremony costumes and accessories" for men and women.
Members of jury appointed by UNESCO general-manager for their competence and knowledge in handicraft.
