Five Palestinians were killed, tens wounded in the confrontation with Israel

In the 44th day of the Palestinian uprising five Palestinians were killed and tens wounded by Israelis. The Israeli occupation forces on Friday launched missiles from tanks and planes against the city of Ramullah and Bethlehem and made a total military siege on the two cities.
The Israeli forces also held a similar siege on the cities of Hebron and al-Beera and closed the regional waters from the Gaza strip.
News reports said the Israeli bombardment destroyed a building for the Palestinian government in Ramullah and several Palestinians were wounded.
Confrontations escalated in Ramullah, Toulkarem, Qalqelyah, Bethlehem, Nablus al-Khalil, Beit sahour and al-Beera as well as various camps and villages of the west bank and Gaza and three more Palestinians were killed on Friday, among whom was Muhammad Ali Hamed ( 23 year old), a second Palestinian ( 17 year old) who was hit in an Israeli bullet in his face at al-Mintar crossing and the third was killed in Jenin's confrontations, and tens were wounded in the Israeli bullets in Gaza including the photographer of the AP Laurent Dibore.
Israeli sources said that three Israeli soldiers were wounded in the confrontations one in Ramullah, the second in al-Beera and the third was in Jerusalem's explosion.
Meantime, the Israeli forces tightened its siege measures on Jerusalem and prevented youths until the age of 45 from entering al-Aqsa mosque for prayers and despite of all these measures an explosive went off near bab al-Asbat- one of the passages leading to East Jerusalem.
News reports said the explosion targeted a group of the Israeli police while they were in that area.
Explosives were thrown against the leadership of the Israeli police in Jerusalem and at Raas al-Amoud and the Israeli forces hurried to the site to arrest several Palestinians.
The Israeli forces used poisonous gases in dispersing the Palestinians who want to pray at al-Aqsa mosque. News reports said that several Palestinians were strongly beaten and several youths were arrested.
Despite all these measures, angry demonstrations were held in the cities of the West Bank and Gaza where a funeral was held for Thursday's killed and the demonstrators chanted slogans rejecting the occupation and condemning Barak and the occupation.
A massive demonstration was held in Um al-Fahem town of 1948 territories, where the demonstrators attacked the Israeli patrols with stones carrying black flags and emblems voicing solidarity with the Intifada.
The governor of Nablus Muhammad al-Aloul said that the Israeli bombardment of quarters in the city by missiles that targeted several citizens while in their houses aimed at forcing the citizens to evacuate Nablus.
He added that a huge force of the Israeli army still besieges the city and prevents the farmers from having access to their farms and they destroyed the olive crops and uprooted hundreds of olive trees.
At the meantime, the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak renewed his threats against the Palestinians to escalate repression measures against them unless the Palestinian uprising in halted.
Barak also called on Yasser Arafat to end the uprising if he wants to go for the negotiations and he also refused any international force to be sent to the occupied lands to protect the Palestinians.
