Mediterranean women associations convene in Khouribga

The Second meeting of unions and associations of women from Mediterranean countries convened in Khouribga for two days to probe issues related to "Women and the peace culture."

Peace has become a necessity for development geared towards wellbeing and women, who account for half of society, have a special role to play in this fight, said Princess Lalla Fatima Zahra who chairs the national union of Moroccan women.

The event held under royal patronage was the opportunity for participants to say how peace, its culture and foundations should translate and be obvious in cultural, social, economic and political spaces. They also insisted on more involvement of women in the development process upholding virtues of peace in the area of exchange, dialog and religion which the Mediterranean has always been.
