Ethiopia calls for pressuring Asmara
Ethiopia-Eritrea, Politics, 11/10/2000
Ethiopia's prime minister Meleis Zenawi has called on the international community to practice pressures on Asmara's authorities to get a real pledge to establishing a permanent peace between the two countries.
A spokesman for the Ethiopian foreign ministry told the official dailies on Thursday that Meleis who held talks with the Dutch foreign minister Josias Van Artsen had, in particular, asked the international establishments to strongly pressure the government of Eritrea to pursue the path of peace.
The spokesman explained that Eritrea did not show an indication for peace and it seems that it exploits the truce to launch a new tour of aggression.
