Sudan is free from Ebola disease

The World Health Organization WHO has stressed that Sudan is free from any case of Ebola disease which was recently spread in several neighboring African states.

The coordinator of the technical unit programs at WHO Dr. Hashem Suleiman al-Waqei said in a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Ayam issued on Wednesday that a WHO team made during the two past days a field investigation for fact finding on the Ebola disease on the area situated under the rebel movement in Southern Sudan.

He added that the team visited the two regions of Heyala and Hezanjawar, which are 40 Km to the east of Tourit and it was found out that the area is free from that disease.

Al-Waqei noted that medical instruments for Ebola disease has reached Sudan from WHO to make necessary measures against this disease, adding that the equipment will be sent immediately to Juba city at Baher al-Jabal province in Southern Sudan.
