Some 11 Islamists arrested in Kuwait

A high ranking Kuwaiti security source on Wednesday stressed what was quoted by news reports of Islamic sources in Cairo in that the Kuwaiti authorities arrested 11 Islamists including two army officers.

Well-informed sources told the Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas on Wednesday as saying that the campaign of arrest covered Kuwaitis most of them extremists who are wanted for investigations in security issues.

The sources revealed that the detainees belong to an Islamic group suspected to planning inside Kuwait to attack western targets outside the country.

Th Kuwaiti security sources stressed that security conditions are under control despite the fact that the US forces declared state of alert, noting that the Kuwaiti security forces has the right to arrest any suspected person and to investigate him.
