Russian deputy foreign minister arrives in Oman

Russia's deputy foreign minister Vassilli Serdin, who is the special envoy for the Russian President to Muscat arrived on Tuesday in Oman in a visit which lasts for two days during which he will hold talks dealing with bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing and backing them as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Oman's news agency quoted Serdin as saying that his talks will deal with the ME peace process and the efforts currently exerted in the negotiations between the Israelis and the Palestinians. The Russian deputy foreign minister stressed that Russia's role in the ME peace process will be active and remarkable during the coming phase, especially under the foreign policy pursued by the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He added that Russia has good relations with all the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, noting that his country is currently making tremendous efforts to reactivate its trade and economic relations with the Arab Gulf states during the coming years.
