Strong explosion in Sudan factory; forgery gang arrested

Two persons were killed and other three seriously wounded in a strong explosion that took place in a medical gas factory at al-Baqir industrial area to the south of al-Khartoum.

The Sudanese daily Akhbar al-Youm said that the explosion which took place on Sunday caused a violent shock in the neighboring area to the factory and that its implications and reasons are still unknown until now although it is more expected to have a technical break in the factory pressure instruments.

The paper added that the Oxygen department at this factory which was established in the beginning of the 1990s totally collapsed and the security force continue investigations in this incident.

On another development, the Sudanese security forces arrested one of the most dangerous gang works in falsifying currency and other documents.

The Sudanese daily Akhbar al-Youm issued on Monday said that the gang includes seven persons including one woman and one foreigner from a neighboring state and they were caught together with photographing equipment of highly advanced quality, a machine to print the forged currencies.
