Syrian Premier visits Lebanon to greet the new Lebanese government

President Emil Lahoud of Lebanon on Monday in Beirut received the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro. Miro conveyed, during the meeting greetings of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the Lebanese president and for the progress and prosperity of the Lebanese people.
Talks dealt with bilateral relations, the situation in the region and the palestinian Intifada against the Israeli forces.
Earlier in the day the Lebanese Premier Rafik al-Hariri discussed with Miro means of developing and strengthening co-operation relations.
Miro said that he discussed with his lebanese counterpart what has been achieved in all fields in implementation of the Syrian- Lebanese fraternity, Cooperation and Coordination Treaty." He added we are heading together toward a joint goal with firm determination and clear future vision.
Later in the day, Miro and members of the accompanying delegation returned to Damascus following a one day visit to Lebanon.
