Lebanese premier to visit Morocco shortly
Lebanon-Morocco, Politics, 11/6/2000

Lebanese premier, Rafiq Hariri, will be visiting Morocco shortly, part of a tour to Arab states that will also take him to Egypt and Saudi Arabia, announced Morocco's ambassador to Lebanon, Abdeljalil Fenjiro.

The diplomat, who met Saturday with the head of the Lebanese government to congratulate him on his appointment, said talks he held with Hariri covered means to develop bilateral cooperation and reactivate the high joint commission, scheduled to meet after the fasting month of Ramadan.

Hariri's last official visit to Morocco as a prime minister dates to July 1997 when he signed with Moroccan authorities two cooperation agreements for the creation of the joint commission and investment encouragement and protection.

The two states had also signed a memorandum of understanding setting up a business council in economy, trade and finance.
