Garoudy arrives in Iraq

The Iraqi weekly Sawt al-Talabah said on Saturday that the French intellectual Roger Garoudy arrived on Friday in Iraq where he will deliver several lectures and take part in the celebration to mark the 1200 anniversary of the foundation of " Beit al-Hikmah " ( Wisdom house).
The paper added that Garoudy who is visiting Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi journalists Union will take part in an intellectual seminar organized by the Union to speak about his recent political and intellectual compositions.
Worthy mentioning that " Beit al-Hikmah" which is run by a council of secretaries led by former minister of culture and information Hamid Youssef Hamadi is interested in the Arab history, in reviving heritage and Arab thinking issues.
