Sudan, Eritrea for strengthening bilateral relations

Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir on Friday received a message from the Eritrean President Asyas Afourki pertaining to bilateral relations and the efforts made by Eritrea to maintain a peaceful solution in Sudan.

The message was conveyed by Eritrea's foreign minister Ale Sayed Abdullah during the meeting between the Sudanese President and the Eritrea's minister. On Thursday evening Abdullah informed President al-Bashir with arrangements carried out by the Eritrea's leadership to hold direct contacts between the Sudanese government and the opposition coalition led by Muhammad Othman al-Meir Ghani.

Meantime, the secretary general of the Eritrea's Democratic People's Front Muhammad Saeed unveiled in a statement to the al-Sahafah daily issued in Khartoum on Friday about the arrangements made by Eritrea to convene a second direct round of negotiations between the Sudanese government and the Sudanese opposition coalition which will be held very soon, as he said.

Muhammad Saeed refused to give details about these arrangements but he stressed that "good things" will take place in the coming days in regard to comprehensive political solution.

He continued that things are prepared for the two sides to reach satisfactory results concerning all pending issues.
