Former foreign department executive jailed for abuse of power

The Moroccan special justice court on Monday sentenced a former foreign department executive to a 4-year jail term for abuse of power. The executive used his influence with foreign consulates to obtain visas for several persons between 1991-1992, against sums of money varying between $ 200 and $ 1,500.
The executive, whose identity was not disclosed, was working at the protocol service of the foreign department.
