Jordan and relations with Israel
Jordan-Israel, Politics, 11/1/2000
Jordan's prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb has refused a request proposed by heads of the vocational trade unions in Jordan calling for severing Jordan's relations with Israel.
The chairman of the Jordanian vocational trade unions Saleh al-Armouti said on Tuesday in statements to the press that heads of the vocational trade union met on Monday evening with Abu al-Ragheb who refused their said request and told them that continued official normalization with Israel serves the peace process through the backing and support Jordan gives to the "Palestinian brothers."
