Six Palestinians killed Tuesday in confrontation with Israeli army

Amid Israeli military escalation and tanks and rockets bombardment of the populated Palestinian areas coupled with threats by Barak of using more violence, the Palestinian uprising continued on Tuesday for its 34th day as more 6 Palestinians were killed and tens wounded.

Muhammad Khazaa Khalas (23) was killed after was hit in his chest at al-Mintar crossing in Gaza during Tuesday's confrontation between the Palestinian citizens and the Israeli occupation forces. The confrontation covered most areas of the Gaza strip, and its various crossing and towns. Some 17 Palestinians were wounded and Mahmoud Ahmad Abu al-Kheir was killed.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning other three Palestinians were killed at Carny crossing when the Israeli tanks opened their fire against Palestinian demonstrators.

News reports said that correspondent of the CNN TV Bin Weideman was wounded during confrontation in Gaza and that he is receiving medical treatment at the city's hospital.

News reports said that the Palestinian youths attacked the Israeli on foot patrols with stones and that the Israeli forces continued to use live ammunition, a matter which raised the number of casualties among the Palestinians. In the West Bank, the Palestinian demonstrators attacked the Israeli military liaison office in Arieha and also the Israeli on foot patrols near Toulkarm and Ramullah in which the Palestinian Thaeir Ibrahim was killed, al-Khuder village near Bethlehem, near Oqbat Jaber camp and in the outskirts of the cities of Nablus and al-Khalil.

News reports said that one Israeli tank opened fire against a Palestinian house in Hebron ( al-Khalil) and heavy material losses were inflicted.

Israeli military sources said that Israeli helicopters bombardment of the Palestinian centers in the West Bank came at instructions of the mini Israeli cabinet.

The Israeli army leadership decided to keep the military siege imposed on the Palestinian areas and to install more barriers and inspection points in preparation to isolate these Palestinian areas.

The Israeli army leadership admitted that the bombardment which targeted the city of Nablus aimed at destroying the prisons which accommodates several activists of Hamas movement, adding that those prisoners escaped the bombardment. Meantime, the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak has threatened to renew bombardment for the Palestinian headquarters, claiming he will do so to protect the Israelis and the Israeli forces. Barak added that Arafat does not show any indication on his intention to end the confrontation.
