New Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people

Confrontations of the 33rd day of al-Aqsa uprising was recognized by notable Israeli military escalation, as the Israeli tanks and missiles bombarded Rafah town and as a result several houses were demolished, tens of Palestinians were wounded and heavy losses were inflicted in properties.
Two Israeli soldiers were hit in Rafah's confrontation, while one Israeli army officer was wounded when an explosive charge went off in an Israeli on foot patrol. Some 14 Palestinians were wounded during the confrontation.
The Israeli forces directly opened fire against the Palestinian demonstrators at Careen crossing in Gaza and this resulted in seriously wounding of 8 Palestinians in the head and the chest.
In Nablus strong confrontation took place between the Palestinian youths and the Israeli forces after Palestinian demonstrators attacked a position for the Israeli forces at al-Raas and " Beit Elle" settlement to the north of Ramullah.
One Israeli settler was killed and two Israelis were wounded when fire was opened on them in Jerusalem.
Israeli sources said their wounds are serious, while the body of another killed settler was found near Jeilo settlement at the entrance of Jerusalem.
The Israeli radio said that the leadership of the Israeli army issued new instructions in which it authorizes the Israeli army to directly open fire on the youths of the uprising and to carry out special operations but gave no mention to the nature of these operations.
The radio added that measures of tightened military siege have already started against the cities of Areiha and Nablus and other areas if the West Bank and Gaza.
Meantime, the Israeli ministry of finance decided to increase allocations for the Israeli army and police at 176 million Shekels to cover the expenses of eliminating the uprising.
Meantime, the Israeli occupation forces decided to expand the settlement process, especially Abu Ghneim settlement near Bethlehem and announced a tender to start the building up operation of 400 residential units in the course of Judaizing Jerusalem and its surroundings.
Palestinian President Yasser Arafat stressed that the Palestinian conditions, one month after the uprising is strong and solid. He added on Monday upon he arrived back from his visit to Egypt and meeting with President Hosni Mubarak saying: " the Palestinian people are solid and steadfast in defending their Christian and Muslim shrines."
