Jordanian prime minister to visit Iraq for the first time since 10 years

Jordanian prime minister Ali Abu al-Ragheb will head for Baghdad tomorrow leading an official and people's delegation including 100 popular and official figures in an official visit to Iraq which is the first for a Jordanian prime minister since the second Gulf war ( the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait ).

The said Jordanian delegation includes 6 ministers and members of al-Ayan council ( upper house), parliament members, heads of trade unions, economic figures, businessmen, journalists and writers.

During this three- day visit, Abu al-Ragheb will preside over the Jordanian side to the meetings of the joint Iraqi- Jordanian committee and discuss bilateral cooperation relations.

Security sources in Amman said that Jordan at the meantime studies the possibility of operating a continuous trade airline between Amman and Baghdad.
