Moroccan premier meets speaker of Romanian senate

Moroccan premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi held a meeting here Friday with Speaker of the Romanian Senate, Mirissia Ianesco, and his accompanying delegation.
Youssoufi who conveyed to the delegation the greetings of King Mohammed VI to the Rumanian president said Morocco is closely following the developments in the Balkans and their incidence in the whole region.
He said Morocco grants a special interest to the promotion of its relations with candidates to the European Union, a statement by the prime minister's office said.
Touching on the situation in the Middle East, the Prime minister renewed Morocco's attachment to peace and to the edification of a Palestinian independent state and called Romania and its allies to use their weight in the region to reactivate the peace process.
The Romanian senate speaker explained the difficulties facing his country in restructuring its financial and economic bodies in the prospect of adhesion to the European Union.
The Romanian senatorial delegation started an official visit to Morocco on Tuesday at the invitation of speaker of the Chamber of advisors (upper house of the Moroccan parliament) Mostapha Okacha.
