Algeria and Iran exchange ambassadors

Algerian President Abd El-Aziz Bu Taflika agreed on appointing Seyab Mohammed Reda Mefalizada as an ambassador extraordinary for the Iranian Islamic Republic in Algeria.
An official statement issued by the Algerian foreign ministry said that Iran agreed also on appointing Abd El-Kader Haggar, the former head of the foreign affairs committee of the national public council, as an ambassador extraordinary for Algerian in Iran.
The diplomatic relations between the two countries were resumed in the beginning of last September during the meeting between President Bu Taflika and his Iranian counterpart Mohammed Khatamy on the margin of the Millennium summit in New York at where it was decided to restore the relations between the two sides.
