Egyptian girl tries to cross to Palestine to participate in uprising
Egypt-Palestine, Politics, 10/26/2000
In a desire to help the people in the occupied Palestine with their uprising against the Israeli occupation forces, an Egyptian girl crossed the tunnel of the martyr Ahmed Hamdi to Sinai on her way to the Palestinian lands.
In an explanation of her desire, Nadia Mabrouk said to general Hamdi Hedaya -- the manager of Suze governorate security -- that "the image of her Palestinian sisters who were shot by the occupying forces encouraged her to revenge for them no matter the obstacles."
After assuring her that there are many ways to express solidarity with the Palestinians without facing risks, the Suez prosecution sent her back to her father.
The father said that "his daughter, a student in Horreya girls school in Shobra - Cairo, was always asking on how to make a passport to participate in Aqsa uprising."
