Qatari foreign minister meets Moroccan ambassador
Morocco-Qatar, Politics, 10/24/2000

Qatari foreign minister, Ahmed Ben Abdellah Al-Mahmoud, met this Tuesday with Morocco's ambassador to Doha, Mohamed Larbi Dilai, who has just resumed his office in the Arab capital.

After Morocco recalled its ambassador for consultation last July after ""having lately noted with amazement and regret the various (anti-Moroccan) stands and attitudes adopted by the brotherly country of Qatar, both at the political and at the media levels," King Mohammed VI directed the ambassador to resume his office following a meeting in Cairo with the Emir of qatar, Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al-Thani, last Saturday in Cairo.

According to Qatari news agency "QNA," talks between the head of the Iraqi diplomacy and the Moroccan diplomat covered "relations between the two brotherly countries and other issues of common interest."

The diplomat said his return to Doha to resume his diplomatic mission "reflects the development in the quality of relations between the two countries."

In a previous statement to Egyptian daily "Al Ahram," Dilai had said that King Mohammed VI instructed him to return immediately to Doha, adding the two Arab countries will be endeavoring to build solid relations marked by cohesion and understanding.
