Sectarian violence in Egypt

Egyptian security sources said on Monday that acts of violence between Muslims and Christians erupted in Samlout city to the South of Cairo by the beginning of this week due to differences over making some renovations in a local church. A matter which resulted in wounding three persons. An official at the Egyptian ministry of the Interior said that the judicial sides is investigating the reasons behind this incident.
However, the operation of building and renovating churches was a source for sectarian problems in Egypt in the past.
