Malaysian parliament condemns Israel for aggression on Palestinians
Palestine-Israel-Malaysia, Politics, 10/20/2000

The Malaysian parliament has condemned Israel for its brutalities against Palestinians in the West Bank, killing more than 100 innocent people, reports the Malaysian news agency (BERNAMA).

BERNAMA said Malaysian speaker Mohamed Zahir Ismail joined the parliament members in condemning the atrocities in the strongest terms.

He described as despicable the Israeli soldiers' treatment of the Palestine people.

"We hope the Palestinians will get back their land and there'll be no trouble," he said before the start of the question-and-answer session.

Malaysia has on Tuesday proposed the convening of a special session of the Islamic Conference's Foreign Ministers to focus on the Israeli atrocities against the Palestinians. Malaysia is the current chairman of the ICFM.

Mohamed Zahir also asked all Muslim Members of Parliament to recite the "Al Fatihah" in memory of the Palestinian martyrs.
