Qatari energy minister holds talks in India to export gas
Qatar-India, Economics, 10/20/2000
The Qatari minister of energy, industry, electricity and water said that he will hold talks in India to crystallize some technical matters concerning exporting liquid Qatari gas.
He added before heading to India that the first of the liquid gas will reach India in mid 2003, emphasizing that he will explain to the Indian officials the efforts exerted by the gas company to apply the agreement.
Qatar was about to sign an agreement for exporting gas for Israel yet the Arab relations with Israel have worsened since the assumption of Benjamin Netanyahu - the former Israeli prime minister - without these relations seeing any improvement under the current Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak which forced Qatar to stop its relations completely with Israel.
