Leader of Italian trade union meets Moroccan premier

Secretary general of the Italian trade union "CGIL," Sergio Coferrati, who is currently visiting Morocco, conferred in Rabat Tuesday with Moroccan Premier Abderrahmane Youssoufi.
Youssoufi underscored the importance of cooperation between the two countries' political parties and trade unions to promote the trading of experience in matters of social and economic development.
He also touched on the labor code that he described as an essential implement to regulate relations between the various partners in the production sector and to give momentum to investments.
Talks also covered social dialogue and consultation as a means to promote development, the importance of social welfare and the issue of illegal emigration.
The Italian union leader stressed in this respect the need to regulate migratory flows in the frame of bilateral cooperation and to set up structures that will see to the respect of the immigrants' dignity.
Coferrati had also met Moroccan minister of employment, vocational training, social development and solidarity, Abbes El Fassi, and executives of Moroccan trade unions.
